The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), led a delegation of young Thai inventors to participate in and exhibit their innovations at “The 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva,” held from 11–15 March 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.

As part of the Thailand Pavilion, NSTDA presented two outstanding projects from the winners of the Young Scientist Competition (YSC):
- Phonyong Prime+ – A system for assessing beef quality and identifying factors influencing the quality of Phon Yang Kham premium beef. Developed by Patiphol Charoenphon, Peeraphat Promchan, and Atch Chokthong from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Mukdahan, recipients of the Second Prize in the Computer Science Category at YSC 2025.
- ODEX – A drone-based system designed to release microencapsulated microorganisms for the remediation of oil spills in mangrove ecosystems. Developed by Kittiphat Kaewruang, Sittha Sinsawat, and Khunthong Klaithong from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Pathum Thani, recipients of the Third Prize in the Engineering Category at YSC 2026.
The NSTDA booth also showcased an innovation from the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC): “Siammosome: Intelligent Nano-Carrier for Active Ingredient Delivery to Melanocyte Target Cells for Skin Lightening,” developed by Dr. Thanisorn Mahatnirunkul and her team from Nanocosmeceuticals and Nutricosmetics Research Team.

The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) organizes one of Europe’s most prestigious and long-standing invention exhibitions, in collaboration with PALEXPO SA and with support from the City of Geneva, the Swiss government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The event features more than 1,000 inventions from over 30 countries, including Canada, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Oman, Saudi Arabia, China, Malaysia, and Korea.
The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) serves as Thailand’s exclusive agency responsible for selecting and coordinating Thai innovations for presentation and competition. In 2026, Thailand submitted more than 130 innovations from over 50 organizations across the public sector, private sector, and academic institutions.
