A delegation of executives and researchers from the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), Republic of Korea, visited Thailand Science Park to explore opportunities for collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and its research centers.
The visit brought together representatives from NSTDA, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), and the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) to discuss shared interests in research, technology development, and innovation. Key areas of discussion included artificial intelligence and industrial applications, geospatial technology for biomass and carbon analysis, renewable energy, energy storage systems, semiconductors, photonics, and other advanced technologies with strong collaborative potential.
In addition to research cooperation, both sides highlighted the importance of translating research outcomes into practical applications and commercial value. Discussions covered approaches to technology transfer, licensing, spin-offs, intellectual property management, and stronger alignment between research outputs and industry needs. KETI shared its experience in linking R&D with market demand, while NSTDA expressed interest in exploring similar models through future collaboration.
The KETI delegation also met with NSTDA executives led by Prof. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of NSTDA, together with Dr. Chularat Tanprasert, Executive Vice President, Science and Technology Infrastructure Services, and Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, Executive Director of NANOTEC, who oversees NSTDA’s international collaboration. The meeting reaffirmed mutual interest in strengthening institutional cooperation and advancing collaboration beyond research toward practical utilization.
Both organizations identified opportunities for continued engagement through technical consultations, pilot projects in high-potential fields, and possible future activities such as technology showcases to connect research outputs with industry and end users.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of NSTDA and KETI to building a stronger partnership that integrates research excellence with technology utilization and innovation for broader impact.
