On 25 November 2025, at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the 18th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (i-CREATe 2025).
The convention took place on the auspicious occasion of the 70th birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness, celebrating her lifelong dedication to advancing education, science, and technology for social development.

i-CREATe 2025 serves as a premier international platform for promoting advancements in rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology, aiming to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with high dependency. The event is organized by the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in collaboration with CREATe Asia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) through the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Mahidol University. This year’s convention is held under the theme “Empowering Lives: Human-Centred Innovation in Health, Wellness, Aging, and Abilities.”
In addition to keynote lectures, academic presentations, and workshops, one of the key highlights of i-CREATe 2025 is the Global Student Innovation Challenge (gSIC 2025). The challenge brings together student teams from eight economies, who compete in Design and Technology categories to develop innovative assistive solutions that address real-world challenges faced by people with disabilities and the elderly.
Selected research papers presented at the convention will be published in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library, extending access to cutting-edge research and fostering international collaboration in rehabilitation engineering, medical robotics, and biomedical engineering.
Through initiatives such as i-CREATe 2025, Thailand continues to play a leading role in advancing inclusive innovation and promoting a society where technology and human-centered design empower every individual to live with dignity and independence.
