On 26 January 2023, NSTDA and Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization announced a collaboration on digital healthcare platform. Under this collaboration, A-MED Home Ward, developed by NSTDA, will be implemented to provide home-based healthcare for citizens of Prachinburi. The pilot project will be launched in sub-district health promoting hospitals located in Ban Sang, Si Mahosot and Si Maha Phot districts.

A-MED Home Ward is a telehealth platform to support virtual post-discharge follow-up visits for patients who are beneficiaries of the Universal Coverage Scheme (UCS). The system will be applied to provide home-based care to discharged patients treated for the following 7 diseases/symptoms: hyperglycemia, hypertension, pressure ulcer, urinary tract infection, pneumonitis, appendectomy and COVID-19. With A-MED Home Ward, doctors can monitor patients’ symptoms via VDO call, while pharmacists and nurses can take orders prescribed by doctors and patients’ records and documents related to the treatment can be uploaded to the system. Hospitals can also electronically claim medical fees directly from the National Health Security Office (NHSO).

A-MED Home Ward provides several benefits. Patients can save money and time from making in-person visits while still receiving continuous care from medical professionals, whereas hospitals can prevent overcrowding. The e-claim feature also reduces administrative burdens at the hospitals considerably.
