On 19 October 2022, the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology under the Patronage of H.M. the King announced recipients to the 2022 Technologist Awards. NSTDA researchers picked up awards in both categories: the outstanding technologist and the young technologist.
The 2022 Outstanding Technologist Award was presented to the research team behind the development of “Dam Safety Remote Monitoring System, DS-RMS”. Accepted the award on behalf of the team was Dr. Kanokvate Tungpimolrut, Director of NECTEC Advanced Control and Electronics Research Group. Developed in collaboration with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), DS-RMS is an automated system that remotely acquire data on dam behavior in real-time to monitor dam safety.
The 2022 Young Technologist Award was presented to Dr. Manaschai Kunaseth for his achievement in “High Performance Computing Infrastructure for Advanced Materials Research”. Dr. Manaschai is currently leading the Supercomputing Infrastructure and Operation Team at NSTDA Supercomputing Center (ThaiSC) and serving as a vice president of NSTDA.
On hand to congratulate the recipients of these prestigious awards were NSTDA President Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, NSTDA Executive Vice President Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, NSTDA Executive Vice President Dr. Sarun Sumriddetchkajorn and NECTEC Executive Director Dr. Chai Wutiwiwatchai. The awards demonstrate the commitment of NSTDA and its researchers in creating technologies and innovations to serve the national economic and social development.
