On 25 January 2021, NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul and Mr. Surasri Kidtimonton, Director General of Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation participated in the virtual signing ceremony of an MOU between NSTDA and the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Accompanying Dr. Narong in the ceremony was Dr. Wannee Chinsirikul, Executive Director of NANOTEC-NSTDA.
Under this collaboration, NSTDA will utilize its technological expertise to support the mission of the Department which is to perform cloud seeding to stimulate rain in order to mitigate the effects of drought on agricultural activities. At present, the two organization has an active project to develop a material suitable for seeding cold clouds. The project involves the selection of natural material and enhancing its desired properties with nanotechnology. The two parties expect to form more collaborative projects in the near future.
