Health Tech Thailand 2021, Thailand's first hybrid event showcasing the latest medical and health technological innovations since the reopening of the border, kicked off on 8 December at Thailand Science Park with Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation presiding over the opening ceremony. The event brought together health-tech entrepreneurs, health-tech companies, researchers, and medical doctors to develop connection in order to advance the health and medical service industry.

Minister Anek shared the vision of the government in developing a dynamic ecosystem to support medical and healthcare industry under the Bio-Circular-Green Economy national agenda. His ministry is driving the implementation of BCG model to create sustainable economic growth, turn Thailand into a developed country and realize the vision to become ASEAN Medical Hub by 2027.

NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul revealed that the Health Tech Thailand 2021 onsite exhibition fully occupied 3,000 sq.m. space of Thailand Science Park Convention Center. Over 100 innovations were unveiled at the event. The onsite exhibition consisted of 50 booths, whereas the online platform contains as many as 300 booths. A total of 160 companies joined the business matching platform. Open innovation and innovation pitching were held on stage for startups to introduce and raise fund for their innovative ideas. Onsite biz clinic offered consultation by government officials and industry experts to entrepreneurs and businesses.
