NSTDA and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) launched a research and innovation collaboration to support and enhance the investigation, suppression and prevention of special crimes to strengthen national security. The agreement was signed by DSI Director-General Pol. Lt. Col. Korrawat Panprapakorn and NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul on 20 October 2020 at Thailand Science Park.

DSI mainly deals with special cases that are complex in nature and threaten national security which include economic, IT, consumer and environmental protection, organized and international crimes. These complex cases require sophisticated and cutting-edge technology and innovation to enhance the performance and efficiency of the investigation, suppression and prevention. Under this collaboration, NSTDA will employ its expertise in various technological fields to assist the DSI in the crime investigation, suppression and prevention. The National Security and Dual-Use Technology Center (NSD), one of NSTDA’s focus centers, will represent NSTDA in this 3-year collaboration which will not only includes technological support, but also promotes manpower development and innovation creation through activities such as seminars and innovation contests.
