On 11 March 2020, executives of MTEC-NSTDA, NSTDA and CP All gathered to mark the collaboration on innovative food packaging that offers safety to consumers and friendliness to the environment. Executives in attendance included Mr. Wisade Wisidwinyoo, Member of CPRAM Executive Committee, Dr. Julathep Kajornchaiyakul, MTEC Executive Director and Ms. Suwipa Wanasathop, NSTDA Vice President.

As the operator of 7-Eleven convenience store businesses in Thailand, CP All is the strategic partner for this collaboration with two of its subsidiary companies - CP FOODLAB, a research and development company and CPRAM, a food production unit - expecting to engage in R&D, product testing, and advancing the technology to the market. This collaboration will support the company’s “7 Go Green” campaign which focuses on Green Stores, Green Logistics, Green Packaging and Green Living.

The partnership offers an opportunity for MTEC to employ its expertise in advanced polymer technology and product life cycle into the development of green food packaging for frozen ready meals that is safe when reheating and also biodegradable. This initiative is an example of Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy, in which technology and innovation is applied to develop sustainable solutions.
