Tripple A Engineering and Supply Company Limited recently unveiled a mobile robot that the company developed with the assistance from NSTDA Innovation and Technology Assistance Program (ITAP).

Tripple A Engineering and Supply is a Thai company operating the business of manufacturing machinery parts and automation systems. Recognizing business opportunity and its expertise in automation, the company set a sight on developing an automated guided vehicle (AGV) and aimed to market the AGV under its own brand. The company submitted an application to ITAP for an expert to help the company realizing its goal. Mr. Anukul Sukto, Lecturer of School of Science and Technology, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, was an ITAP consultant for this project. He provided technical consultation and suggestions on parts and suppliers for the manufacturing of an AGV at a competitive cost, leading to the final product that has been presented to Chonburi Hospital.

The mobile robot has been tested at Chonburi Hospital for delivering meals and medical supplies to patients. As the robot replaces manual labor, its advantage becomes more prominent during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the use of mobile robot, the hospital is able to implement contactless measure to mitigate the spread of the disease, mobilize its personnel formerly tied up to delivery tasks to other functions and save on personal protective equipment (PPE).

ITAP is a program that provides technical assistance to businesses to increase their value through better product matching with the new market. ITAP has a pool of over 1,300 highly experienced and qualified technical experts from universities and S&T agencies and connection with financial institutions and marketing firms that can help Thai SMEs to identify technical solutions and provide consultation during the implementation to ensure successful design and implementation. Since its inception, ITAP has implemented over 4,000 projects.
