NANOTEC-NSTDA led a team of Thai scientists and companies to showcase their work at nano tech 2019 (The 18th International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference) in Tokyo, Japan from 30 January – 1 February 2019. The event presented an excellent platform for Thai innovators to learn about global trend and

advancement in the field of nanotechnology and most importantly, to meet and explore academic and business collaboration with international organizations. Held under the theme “NANOVATION for Smart Society”, Thailand Pavilion displayed innovations from the following organizations: NSTDA and its four research centers – NANOTEC, NECTEC, BIOTEC and MTEC --, Mahidol University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, PTT, SCG Chemicals, Hayden Technology (Thailand), Prime Technology and Nanotechnology Association of Thailand. In addition, visitors to Thailand Pavilion were also introduced to the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) project. EECi is a new economic estate specializing in research, innovation, and related testing and evaluation and offers a complete ecosystem for innovation.

NANOTEC has been presenting Thailand Pavilion at the International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference every year since 2009. This year, the Pavilion was opened by Prof. Pairash Thajchayapong, NANOTEC Board Chairman; Dr. Wannee Chinsirikul, NANOTEC Executive Director and Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Minister to the Royal Thai Embassy in Japan.

In addition to attending nanotech 2019, the Thai delegation also visited and explored collaboration with leading organizations such as Keio Quantum Computing Center, Life Innovation Center and Bridgestone Corporation. A joint workshop on prevision nanomedicine was held with the University of Tokyo and the Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (iCONM).
