On 16 November 2019, NSTDA and the Embassy of Japan in Thailand hosted an orientation for 16 gifted students in science selected to participate in a study tour in Japan under JENESYS 2019. The study tour to take place from 25 November – 3 December 2019 will consist of visits to several organizations – research/academic institutes, leading Japanese companies, and museums – located in Tokyo and Niigata Prefecture to enrich understanding in Japanese science, technology and culture.

JENESYS, Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths, is the Japanese Government’s exchange program that invites youths from overseas to Japan every year to promote mutual understanding and friendship with Japanese youths and citizens. NSTDA has been assisting the Embassy of Japan in Thailand to selected Thai youths to take part in the program since 2015. Recipients of JENESYS 2019 were selected from a pool of gifted high school students active in NSTDA youth and educational programs such as Junior Science Talent Project (JSTP) and Fabrication Lab at School, as well as direct applications received nationwide.
