NSTDA’s Career for the Future Academy in collaboration with partner organizations – the Department of Industrial Promotion, Kasetsart University, and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) - organized a capacity building program for participants of GEF-UNIDO Cleantech Programme for SMEs in Thailand on 11-15 November 2019 in Bangkok. The week-long event gathered over 100 mentors and alumni from year 2017-2019 for Mentor Training Workshop and National Academy. The activity was conducted by Mr. Kevin Braithwaite, Vice President of Network for Global Innovation (NGIN) and Ms. Chloe Soroquere, Senior Trainer for GCIP.

Additionally, an online course has been developed for mentors and entrepreneurs of this programme. The course consists of eight modules: intellectual property laws; financial analysis; marketing management; planning; business accounting; investment and investment fund; business and investment analysis; and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and cleantech.

 UNIDO Cleantech Programme for SMEs in Thailand is part of Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) initiated by UNIDO and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to promote cleantech innovations and cleantech entrepreneurship by fostering innovation and entrepreneur ecosystem through GCIP accelerator consisting of innovation competition and capacity building of mentors and entrepreneurs. The programme places special emphasis on energy and water efficiency, waste management, renewable energy, green buildings and transportation. Thailand is one of eight countries - Armenia, India, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey - joining GCIP in 2014.
