Dr. Namurata Sathirachinda Palsson, Researcher of MTEC-NSTDA, was named the Young Metallurgist 2017. The announcement was made at the 11th Thailand Metallurgy Conference held during 15-16 November 2018 in Chonburi, Thailand.
Dr. Namutara is a researcher at the Failure Analysis and Corrosion Technology (FACT) Laboratory, MTEC. Her work concentrates on studying environmental corrosion of metallic materials, especially in Thailand climate. These data are tremendously useful in improving material selections and design, as well as corrosion prevention methodologies and maintenance plan, thus making significant impact to the Thai industries. Her achievement includes the development of corrosion tests under various conditions, an establishment of metal corrosion database for more accurate prediction, and a number of patent applications.
