Over the past few years, the Thai government has been implementing Thailand 4.0 economic model with the grand vision to transform the country to an innovation-based economy.  To this end, science technology and innovation as well as talents will be essential components to achieving the goals of Thailand 4.0 and moving the country up the global value chain.  In this regard, with the close and cordial ties between Thailand and Russia which has been developed and grown for over 120 years, the collaboration between NSTDA and two Russian counterparts, i.e., Skoltech and SPbU on education research and entrepreneurs and technology businesses promotion will have a great potential to contribute significant impact not only to Thailand but also to Russia.

Skoltech and SPbU executives were part of the Russian delegation visiting Thailand for the 1st Thai-Russia Roundtable (TRRT) on Gifted Education and Research held on 18-19 August 2018 at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) and Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) in Rayong. The initiative to organize the TRRT was originated from the visit of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Russia in October 2017 on the occasion of Celebrating 120 Years of Thailand-Russia Diplomatic Relations. TRRT was organized by the Office of the Education Council.
