Real World Applications of OLED Technology [Online Event]

Presented by SGInnovate and the Japan Science & Technology Agency (JST)

Smartphones, tablets, laptops and TV screens - Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology is improving the world of images in leaps and bounds.

In layman terms, the technology uses layers of organic molecules to convert electricity into light. However, these molecules may be excellent emitters but are poor electrical conductors. To fully utilise the molecules, OLED are created to be thinner than human hair, but this may not be suitable for devices. Besides the width, cost-efficiency and the lifetime of OLED are also necessary considerations. Discover the innovations and improvements made with the technology to solve these problems as OLED experts from Japan, Taiwan and Singapore shed light on OLED and its real-world applications.

With the purpose to bridge Japan's and Singapore's Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystems for knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities, SGInnovate and the Japan Science & Technology Agency are co-presenting a series of talks by notable startups, researchers and corporate innovators on various Deep Tech topics.
