Tokyo Institute of Technology established the Center of Data Science and Artificial

Intelligence on December 1, 2022. The Center aims to foster "co-creative experts" who have the abilities to

1) make full use of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI,

2) collaborate with other experts to solve problems utilizing DS&AI, and

3) teach DS&AI in various fields of science and engineering. The Center also aims to expand the educational program of DS&AI to other universities. In this symposium, we will discuss what kind of abilities are in demand for DS&AI experts and how universities should be dealing with them from various perspectives in industry, government, and academia both within and outside Japan.
