A certificate presentation ceremony of NSTDA Summer School 2023 was held on 3 May 2023. Hosted by NSTDA in collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the event celebrated the summer school program completion of 92 students and teachers.

NSTDA Vice President Dr. Somboon Sahasithiwat said that NSTDA and NRCT formed an alliance to organize NSTDA Summer School and this year marked the third year of collaboration. The program provides opportunities to students and teachers to spend time working with NSTDA researchers to gain experience in research and development and develop critical thinking skill. The program is opened to students under the Science Math Technology and Environment (SMTE) program of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and science teachers from Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools.

“The NSTDA Summer School 2023 took place from 13 March to 3 May. A total of 85 students and 7 teachers from 53 schools participated in the program and were mentored by 28 NSTDA researchers and some additional research staff. In addition to working in laboratories, students and teachers also joined seminars and field trips specially organized for the program to enrich their experience.”

Ms. Supaporn Chockchalermwong, Research and Innovation Funding Management 1 Division Director of NRCT, remarked that NRCT recognizes that kids should be inspired to learn and appreciate science at the young age, and therefore provides a grant to operate NSTDA Summer School program since 2021. She offered her congratulations to teachers and students for completing this 7-week program to develop their research-related skills and thanked them and NSTDA researchers for their dedication.
