NSTDA President, Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, along with executives of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, participated in the 7th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation which was held under the auspices of the 16th China-ASEAN Expo held in Nanning, China. China-ASEAN Expo China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) is an annual event, aiming at fostering relationships and promoting the cooperation between countries in ASEAN and China in various fields.

Speaking at the ASEAN Plus Three Young Scientist Innovation Forum on 20 September, NSTDA President discussed the role NSTDA has taken in people development and people to people cooperation in S&T between Thailand and China. At the national level, NSTDA implements programs to increase quantity and quality of researchers and scientific workforce in the industry to support sustainable growth under Thailand 4.0 policy and 20-year National Strategy. Examples include projects like KidBright and FabLab that aim to inspire young generation to pursue higher education in science and technology fields. Dr. Narong also highlighted the activities carried out by the Thailand-China Technology Transfer Center hosted by NSTDA, serving an instrumental mechanism in facilitating technology transfer and dialogues between companies in Thailand and China. The Center regularly organizes a wide range of activities such as staff exchange, short-term training and business matching to strengthen collaboration between Thai and Chinese enterprises.

In the panel discussion on China-ASEAN Young Scientist Exchange Program, Dr. Songphon Munkongsujarit of NSTDA shared his experience working at China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center (CATTC) for 6 months under the Talented Young Scientists Program (TYSP) in 2015. During his 6-month attachment at CATTC, Dr. Songphon was able to develop a solid work plan for technology transfer activities between Thailand and China, leading to the establishment of the Thailand-China Technology Transfer Center.
