7-21 August 2003 H.I.H. Prince Akishinonomiya Fumihito visited Thailand for H.M. Queen Sirikrit’s birthday and presided over the first HCMR joint meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

September 2003 HCMR researchers developed project proposal in Thailand at National Science and Technology Development Agency. Thai HCMR researchers met and discussed the scope and details of HCMR project.


26 December 2003 First HCMR joint meeting was organized at Thailand Science Park, Thailand. The meeting discussed project plan and activities, and  planned to conduct the first survey study in mid- January 2004.

January 2004 Outbreak of bird flu caused delay in HCMR project.

17-24 August 2004 First joint field survey was conducted at 5 locations in Chiang Rai: Ban Pong Pa Kham; Ban Haui San; Ban Pa Kham Samakkhi; Ban Na-to; Ban Ruam Chai. There were 13 Thai HCMR researchers and 8 Japanese HCMR researchers from 4 disciplines, including Humanities, Economics, Biology and Ecology and Geography.

16 – 22 December 2004 Second joint field survey was conducted at 3 locations in Chiang Rai: Ban Ruam Chai; Ban Na-to; Ban Huai Nam Khun.

27 December 2004  Site visit was organized at Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary, District of Sanamchaiket, Cha Cheang Sao Province. 23 Japanese and Thai HCMR researchers attended this site visit. Red Junglefowl were found in the Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary.

28 –29 March 2005 2005 HCMR Congress was organized in Tokyo, Japan. Thai HCMR researchers participated and presented 5 papers in the Congress. The papers illustrated the first year activities and results of field survey.

29 May 2005 Thai HCMR researchers met and developed HCMR proposal for the years of 2005 – 2006.

August 2005 H.I.H. Prince Akishinonomiya Fumihito visited Thailand and led HCMR researchers to conduct a survey in Chiang Rai.

3 – 10 November 2005 Thai and Japanese researchers conducted field work in Chiang Rai.

5 – 12 March 2006 Researchers from  biology and ecology team conducted field work in Chiang Rai.  33
June 2006 2006 HCMR Congress was organized  in Tokyo, Japan.  33
13 June 2006 The HCMR exhibition was organized at Chulalongkorn University  33
16 March 2007   HCMR Congress was organized in Thailand Science Park, Thailand. H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the Congress and H.I.H. Prince Akishinonomiya Fumihito gave a special talk.  33
 17 March 2007  H.I.H. Prince Akishinonomiya Fumihito conducted HCMR Meeting at Swissotel Nai Lert Park ,Bangkok, Thailand.

18 March 2010 2010 HCMR Congress and Exhibition were organized in Siam Society, Thailand. H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn  graciously presided over the Congress. The “Chickens and Humans in Thailand : Their Multiple Relationship and Domestication”  book has been launched in this occasion .  33

2010 HCMR Seminar  was organized in Tokyo ,Japan In this occasion,  Dr.Sawai Wanghongsa received a doctorate in Ecology from ….university.
