NSTDA and HUTCHINSON Japan Forge Technical Partnership to Advance Railway and Autonomous Vehicle Innovations

Bangkok, Thailand – On July 13, 2023, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand and HUTCHINSON Japan signed a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This agreement establishes a formal technical cooperation between the two organizations, focusing on joint research in the fields of railway and autonomous vehicles. Leveraging HUTCHINSON’s expertise in comfort, safety, and Energy Efficiency Technology, including sensor systems, the collaboration aims to advance the development of innovative solutions.

   

The first phase of collaboration will commence with two projects: (1) the correlation between vibration force and changing mechanical behavior, and (2) elastic waves-based structural health monitoring using a sensor array network for train structure failure prevention.

The NDA signing ceremony took place at the NSTDA building in Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of NSTDA, and Mr. Frederic LE DU, Senior Vice President Asia and Representative Director of Hutchinson Japan Co., Ltd., signed the NDA on behalf of their respective organizations. The signing was witnessed by Dr. Ekkarut Viyanit, Director of the Rail and Modern Transports Research Center of NSTDA, and Mr. Alexandre ORSOLINI, Director of Hutchinson Hiroshima Kasei Sealing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
