May 8 (Friday)

Speakers :
Dr. Atthachai Homhuan, Manager, Regulatory affairs at Tilleke & Gibbins
Ms. Kittiya Nopparatrungroj, Consultant, Regulatory affairs at Tilleke & Gibbins

Synopsis
"Similar to efforts undertaken by food and drug regulators in many countries including the US and EU, Thailand too has announced several important initiatives on faster and more efficient reviews and approvals for products critical to fight the current novel coronavirus COVID-19.

The TFDA's Medical Device Control Division (MDCD) has implemented the fast-track pathways to facilitate all the registration of medical devices related to the COVID-19 pandemic including such goods as surgical masks, N95 masks, personal protection equipment, surgical gowns, medical caps and gloves, thermometers, goggles,, equipment for testing and many others.  Therefore, it is anticipate that the approval timeline would be much shorter than other medical devices.

Recently too, the DIT's Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services (CCP) had to reissue its guidance on the control of export of domestically produced masks and other related protective equipment from its earlier requirement for exporters exporting more than 500 pieces because many exporters had been dividing up their shipments to less than 500 pieces per order.  The CPP has now ban unauthorized exportations of masks - regardless of order size.

Please join LES Thailand to hear more about TFDA and DIT initiatives and opportunities as we continue making our way through the pandemic."
