About TBES

The Toxicology and Bio Evaluation Service Center (TBES) was established in 2020 under the National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). It is operated by a team of researchers with over 15 years of experience in pre-clinical safety testing.

The main objective of TBES is to be a service provider for product testing utilizing ISO standards, OECD test guidelines, and other related standards. The testing and report are robust, globally recognized, and acceptable for submission to regulatory bodies, such as the Thai FDA (Food and Drug Administration). This acceptance also provides a significant advantage for the commercialization of products, both in Thailand and globally.

Expertise

TBES possesses expertise and experience in utilizing Alternatives to Animal Testing. This non-animal testing approach is considered a ‘Global Trend,’ especially since the European Union has already banned animal testing for cosmetics. Furthermore, other product groups are also showing an increasing trend toward adopting alternative methods. Fortunately, 3D tissue models, validated by The European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ECVAM), are currently utilized to replace conventional animal testing.

The TBES research team has the capability to leverage knowledge in toxicology, pharmacology, chemistry, and biology to further develop a diverse range of testing services, adhering strictly to scientific principles and international standards. This commitment ensures TBES can support the country’s new innovative industries in the future.
