On 12 December 2018, NSTDA President, Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, and NSTDA executives welcomed the visit of Chinese delegation led by H.E. Zhang Jianguo, Vice Minister for Science and Technology. The study tour was part of the 22nd Session of the Thailand-China Joint Committee on Scientific and Technical Cooperation hosted by Thailand from 8 – 12 December 2018.

On 6 December 2018, MTEC-NSTDA and the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) held a press conference announcing the launch of on-road test of B10 biodiesel in government cars. The test is part of the collaborative project to promote the use of biodiesel in Thailand. This collaborative project is funded by the Energy Conservation Fund in support of the Alternative Energy Development Plan.

NSTDA hosted a visit of Turkish scientific delegation led by Prof. Hasan Mandal, President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) to Thailand on 21-23 November 2018 for the establishment of NSTDA-TÜBİTAK Scientific Collaboration and the 1st Thai-Turkish Workshop on

On 25October 2018, an MOU signing ceremony was held between NSTDA, Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) to develop PhD graduates to strengthen capacity of Thai STI workforce.  Representing three parties in the signing were Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, NSTDA President, Prof. Dr. Somnuk Tangtermsirikul, SIIT Director and Prof. Dr. Tetsuo Asano, JAIST President.

NSTDA displayed its outstanding work at the CAS Innovation Expo (Bangkok) 2018 held during 10-14 October 2018 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. The display of NSTDA highlighted collaborative work of the agency with Chinese counterpart in developing innovations that significantly contribute to a better future. These projects include:
