Our 2011 fiscal year started off with the establishment of three research units in October 2010: Agricultural Biotechnology, Food Biotechnology and Medical Molecular Biology Research. From this, we will be able to improve the focus of our research as well as establish clear goals.
2010 has proved to be a memorable year for BIOTEC and NSTDA. In June 2010, NSTDA bid farewell to Dr. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, who provided strong leadership as NSTDA President for the past 6 years.
Dr. Sakarindr led BIOTEC as the Executive Director before taking up the office of NSTDA President. Under the new leadership of Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, NSTDA will continue to position itself as a key partner for strengthening a knowledge-based society through science and technology.
Marching into its 26th year, BIOTEC is keeping to its vision of being a dependable partner for accelerating growth towards a knowledge-based society through the use of biotechnology. This year, we established new research collaboration activities with seven companies and entered into new research contracts with ten companies/organizations. Among these partners and clients are Thailand’s large business conglomerates, as well as international companies from abroad.
